Birthday Bakery SSC175 & PDCC53

I needed a Birthday card for my son today as he is going to a friends 13th Birthday Party tonight and she happens to be a girl. What a relief for me as boys birthday cards are a weak spot for me. I love the sketches that Stamping 411 have every Saturday Morning. This was perfect to go along with the colors over at The Play Date Cafe.

  • I choose to "split" the Top Note Die in half with a ribbon treatment that I wrapped around the back of the card by punching little holes with the Crop a Dile. I did not want to loose the points of the Top Note by wrapping the ribbon over them.

At the top I stamped all of those lovely cakes, and the bottom the wonderful greeting in the same set.

I mounted my DSP strips on Basic Black and positioned them a little to the right to give a sense of shadowing, I hope you can tell in this picture.

For my final touches I sponged Bravo Burgundy Ink all around the Top Note and added those beautiful Rhinestone as again this is a card for a 13 year old. What girl does not love some Bling?
Stamp Sets: Birthday Bakery (Hostess Level 1 (CM-120115 WM-117034)

Remember When?

This card reflects a fabulous sketch from Stampin' Royalty. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew exactly which stamp to use.

I started off with one of my favorite Designer Series Packs - Sweet & Sour. I love Rose Red paired with Pumpkin Pie!

The Word Play set have huge word images so all you need is one stamp and your card is almost done.

I layered 2 sets of Daisies together and secured them with a jumbo eyelet used with the Crop-a-Dile then covered it up with the small Rose Red circle that was left over. This was just to secure the flower to my card.

For my perfect touch I added some basic pearls.

Stamp Sets: Word Play (CM-120651 WM-120308)

Cardstock: Rose Red (102544), Pumpkin Pie (105117), Very Vanilla (101650), & Sweet & Sour DSP (117390)

Ink: Pumpkin Pie (105216)

Cool Tools: Big Shot (113439), Original Ovals Die (114525), Flower Daisies #2 (114520), Ticket Corner Punch (119867), Crop a Dile (108362), & Jumbo Antique Eyelets (108431)

Simple Saturday Sketch 174

The sketch challenge this morning from Stamping 411 was perfect for a Freind that I worked with for the past 11 years. Simple & Elegant just like her.

Friends Never Fade is a perfect set to have to make your friends feel extra special.
I love this Square Scallop Duo Die from the Holiday mini, I have used it a lot!
I used my Paper Piercer for the perfect placement of those little pearls. They sit perfectly around the Scallop Oval Punch.
I used Baja Breeze which coordinates with the greenhouse gala DSP, and it is a great shade of Blue which is my freinds favorite color!
Stamp Sets: Friends Never Fade (CM-120618 WM-118750), & Teeny Tiny Wishes (WM-115370)

PPA65 Bring on the Bling

This weeks challenge over at the Pals Paper Arts is to bring on the bling but keep it clean & Simple. So I did just that. I used a sketch challenge from Clean and Simple.

I used the Candy Cane Christmas DSP as it was already loaded with Bling.

I popped out my sentiment with the scallop circle punch that coordinates with the perfect Punches stamp set and I was almost done.

The perfect touch was to add the basic pearls to the edge of the scallop circle and this card was done in under 10 minutes!

Stamp Sets: Perfect Punches (CM-120516 WM-117022)

Mojo161 & Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I was inspired by today's card from one of the Mojo Designers and my super talented upline Mary Fish! She inspired me to create a card for someone in my life who has overcome Breast Cancer. My Step-fathers Mothers has beat this disease twice in her life.

I choose to color a couple of the flowers Pink to represent beating this disease. To me it shows great strength and courage to fight this battle.

The layout from the Mojo Sketch is so simple to keep this a clean card as it a simple way to send a card just to say I am thinking of her!

I love the color combo of Brown & Pink so I chose Early Espresso & Pretty in Pink.

The simple touch for this card is layering the 2 ribbons together to give this card a nice texture & contrast.

Stamp Sets: Thoughts and Prayers (WM-113252), & Teeny Tiny Wishes (WM-115370)

Cardstock: Pretty in Pink (100459), Early Espresso (119686), & Whisper White (100730)

Lovely as a Tree - FLT111

I found a new Challenge site (new to me...lol) called Clean and Simple and they have very simple layouts that you can create cards in a flash! The hardest part for me is choosing the color combo & the stamp set. For this card below I choose Bravo Burgundy as it is a freinds favorite color and her birthday is coming up, so I am ahead of the game!

I love this layout! You could so many simple cards, yet they could all look so different.

I love the big bold statements in On your Birthday set. This one really filled up the space on the main image.

I used a simple matallic eyelet for the tab on the side as our friend Evelyn is not to girly.

The square Lattice Embossing Folder gives this card great texture and dimension and again not too girly.

Stamp Sets: Lovely as a Tree (WM-115026) & On your Birthday (WM-111664)

Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy (105123) & Very Vanilla (101650)

Ink: Early Espresso (119670)

Cool Tools: Big Shot (113439), Scallop Lattice Embossing Folder (119976), Word Window Punch (119857) & Crop a Dile (108362)

Perfect Touch: Metallic Eyelets (105319)

Welcome Christmas & PP20

I love wakening up on Sundays to see with the Paper Players have come up with for their Challenge! This week is a great Sketch which I could have done 5 cards as soon as I saw it! But here is the one I ended up with.

The Scallop Square Duo is one of my favorite items from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini catalog. It just gives my main image a extra wow factor.
Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding is another great item from the Holiday Mini..it is so soft and flexibe and it gives a great texture.
I used the Hemp twine to make little bows around the cherry cobble Designer Buttons.
I always used the Color Spritzer tool (my first time using it) on the main image just to give it a little vintage feel.
Stamp Sets: Welcome Christmas (CM-120597 WM-118736) & Christmas Greetings (WM-115448)

Cardstock: Early Espresso (119686), Crumb Cake (120953), & Very Vanilla (101650)

Ink: Early Espresso (Classic Ink Pad – 119670, Stampin write marker – 119680)

Stamping 411 SSC178 - Have a Seat

Today's Sketch challenge from Stamping 411 is a simple sketch that you could easily create thousands of cards with. This is the first time that I have used this new set called Have a Seat. I really like it!

This stamp set is really rustic so I tried to make my card rustic but still clean and simple.
I faux stitched the Dotted Scallop edge border punch with hemp twine to give it a little bit of texture.
I love how these 3 colors coordinate with the Woodland Walk Designer Series Paper. I have chossen the design that looks like wood grain to match my rustic chair.

PPA64 - Fall Inspiration

This week the Pals have a great Inspiration Photo of fall. I was inspired by the leaves on the ground in my backyard this morning. My trees are starting ot look like the trees in this card.

I used a texture plate but the picture doesn't show it very well but it reminds me of bark on a tree.

I also used Hemp Twine instead of ribbon to keep the natural feel to the card.

I used my favoroite fall colors in this card, they seem to be all over my backyard and up and down the street that I live on.

Stamp Sets: Lovely as a Tree (WM-115026), Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370)

Cardstock: Early Espresso (119686), Cajun Craze (119684), & Very Vanilla (101650)

Ink: Early Espresso (119670), Cajun Craze (119671), More Mustard (103162), & Cherry Cobbler (119669)

Colour Q #54 & Mojo 160

Today's Card was created using 2 Challenges this week. Colour Q, which is a color Challenge & Mojo Monday which is a sketch challenge. With Halloween almost here I thought I would do a Halloween card.

If you dont own the Decorative Label punch from the Holiday Mini I suggest you get it. It is a must have!
I used it for my sideways sentiment and cut it in half on the long side.
I love how this stamp set Wicked Cool allows you to think outside the box when it comes to the middle of the witch! I used a pumpkin pie designer button and threaded it with pumpkin pie taffeta ribbon.
Stamp Sets: Wicked Cool (CM-120600 WM-118738)

The Paper Players Challenge 19

This week over at The Paper Players they have a color challenge of Real Red, Basic Black & Whisper White. Here is what I came up with.

I used the two tags die for the base of my main inage. Kerin Sylvester showcased this idea on her blog the other day. Such a great idea!

I used the Petals of plenty embossing folder as my own Designer Paper.
These colors are so classy when combined together.
This will make a great card to send to one of my friends just to say Hi, and I am thinking of her!

Stampin 411 #172 & Happy Birthday

I am so glad Stamping 411 had a great simple sketch this week that I would be able to create a Birthday card for my Son who will turn 13 tomorrow. He is very excited that his birthday is on 10-10-10 this year and to boot it is a big one for him. 13! We will be taking 3 of his freinds with us to Lake George NY to celebrate at Six Flags!

This sketch is great for a masculine card because it does not have a lot of elements!
I choose to stay monochromatic and used one of Christians favorite colors night of navy.
I love how the Decorative Label match up with the points on the Lattice Die!
This card is so simple for a boy...not alot of frills since I used the 1/8" tafetta Ribbon.
Stamp Sets: Word Play (CM-120651 WM-120308)

Cardstock: Night of Navy (100867), Whisper White (100730) & Regals DSP Pack (117154)
