Today's PPA Challenge is to use buttons on your projects and keep it clean and simple. You will see here that my supply list is very short and it only took a couple of minutes to put it together. I I used the Mojo Monday Layout from Mojo Week # 152.
I have kept this card simple by using masculine colors. Elegant Soiree' uses masculine colors and geometric shapes.

Even the buttons I used are Masculine looking. They are from the Neutrals Designer buttons Collection.
I used simple hemp twine to add a little bit of a finished look to thise very simple buttons.

Mojo Monday 158

This week over at Mojo they have given us 2 diffrent sketchs to choose. I immediately went to work on creating a card with the square one. I used a lot of Inspiration this morning from Mary Fish who designed a fabulous card!

I have used a lot of items from the Holiday Mini Catalog (I will highlight them red in the supply list below).
I love how using the Larger Scallop Square from the duo set makes it look like you are looking out of a window.
I learned this new trick from Mary Fish this morning on how to thread a button with the new taffeta ribbon. Check out her blog for a how to video!

Paper Players Challenge #17

Today's Challenge over at The Paper Players is a baby girl inspiration photo. At first glance I thought this photo would be easy! 8 hours later and to many attempts later here is my card. It has been a long time since I had babies that little in my house.

  • I used a old Mojo Monday Challenge sketch that I didn't have a chance to enter. Mojo #144

The Subtles DSP pack helped me out with the Pretty in Pink Polka Dot paper! It matches the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder for a fantasic look together.

I do not have a lot of baby stamps in my collection so I pulled out a set that my 6 year wanted, the baby Giraffe just screams a little girls room.

Stamp Sets: Fox and Friends (WM-117020 CM-118565), & Teeny Tiny Wishes (WM-115370)

Cardstock: Basic Black (121045), Whisper White (100730), Pretty in Pink (100459) & Subtles DSP Pack (117152)

Ink: Basic Black (101179

In my Thoughts

I have been looking at the Mojo Challenge all week and was coming up blank until I came accross the Colour Q Challenge site. This is the 1st time I have participated in the Colour Q. I love the Word Play set because the word Phrases are so big the take the center stage along withany DSP. This is a quick and simple card to pull together...once you have the vision.

I flipped my card but still kept the same layout from the Mojo Sketch.

Instead of using a circle I used the Butterfly and placed it a little higher on the card.

The taffeta Ribbon is the perfect touch to add to this card, as it is there but not the focal point.

Stamp Sets: Word Play (CM-120651 WM-120308)

Cardstock: Old Olive (100702), So Saffron (111351), Peach Parfait (119794) & Sunny Garden DSP (119831)

Ink: Old Olive (102277)

Cool Tools: Big Shot Die Cutting Machine (113439), Beautiful Wings Embosslit (118138), & Dotted Scallop Border Punch (119275)

Perfect Touch: Old Olive ¼” Taffeta Ribbon (119256), Designer Buttons (Subtles-119745 Brights-119747)

Extra’s: Snail (104332), & Mini glue dots (103683)

Mojo Monday 155

So I am a little late with the Mojo Monday Challenge as it is Sunday! I kept looking at the sketch for the challenge and kept coming up blank for a idea. As I was having my coffee this morning it hit me, I bought the Scenic Season stamp set over the summer and have yet to use it. I paired it up with the Jolly Holly DSP and here it is.

I do not have the scallop die for the big shot so I used ny 1" circle punch, cut them in half and added them to the back of my 2 1/2" circle. I used my Sponge Daubers to add some depth to the very vanilla cardstock. I must love the Modern Label, Word Window & Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set because I think I have used them on every card I made this week.

Back to School Supply Bag

So we received the teachers back to school wish list of items that are needed in the classroom this year. My Youngest Daughter who is 6 and will be in 1st grade is starting a new school this year. This is by my choice and she will be attending a Montessori School. So I decided to make this bag to carry the items in a little special this year. Candice is very excited to start school this Tuesday!

I reused a Shopping back from all of the back to school shopping that we did. The bag measures 9" x 12" so I used 2 pieces of DSP, one for the front & one for the back. I thought this the Celebrations DSP was perfect for a Back to School bag!

This is a close up of the tag, On the inside I stamped - Good Luck.

I hope Candice enjoys her 1st grade class this year!
